AGREEMENT

by Amanda Dunsmore

20 years in the making, Amanda Dunsmore has been producing video portraits of community and political leaders behind the Belfast Good Friday Agreement, sitting in silence.

In 2023, for the 25th anniversary of Northern Ireland’s peace agreement, Amanda and quarto collective invited six communities across Northern Ireland to host a special 3-screen presentation of the artwork for a short period.

During the process of arranging their exhibitions and how their communities may engage with the work, the local organisers talked about the principles of ‘agreement’ and, through their invigilation of the work, what the Belfast Good Friday Agreement means to them and their communities today.

Produced by Ulster Presents at Ulster University as part of its arts programme commemorating the 25th Anniversary of the Belfast Good Friday Agreement, it was made in partnership with quarto collective. Made possible by The National Lottery Heritage Fund and presented in association with University of Limerick, TUS School of Art and Design.
